You want a fantasy title? Better have insurance

If there's one thing that has been proven this year, it is that fantasy handcuffs have either made or broken teams. There's not been really no one as dominant as Tom Brady, even the great Peyton Manning looking more like his old man the last several games. In the running back world, the trainer's tables have more big names on them then the field actually does. So, it goes for saying--if you are still involved in your league's championship, getting more insurance could never be something dumb.

Teams have six games left, but owners have just two until the Fantasy playoffs start to kick in. Trade deadlines have come and gone, and just about every owner knows whether they're going to the postseason, fighting for a spot, or getting ready for their 2008 Fantasy baseball draft. What this means for those that are in though is that you may have to make some bold moves for whatever reason to insure your top players.

It means getting back up players that may or may not be in the lineup right now--for instance, if you have Brady, you're never going to bench him, but it would not be dumb to grab Matt Cassel as insurance. Basically, look for the next guy on a team that has the ability to take over a game should your guy go down--sometimes it's not exactly getting the points that your star did, but would you rather look for someone at crunch time? I wouldn't.
