Week 6 Wonders and Worries

Wow, are we really that far into the season? Fans may be saying wow--but players are saying OW. (Sorry for the cheese). Anyhoo, who's hot? Who's not? Check out my diagnosis...

Vince Young, Texans--While I wrote a column early this week for Young to not panic, and I still stand by that--this week you should be wary of him versus a decent TB secondary. While he may run for 50 or so yards and maybe a score, his passing numbers will once again be dreadful.

Adrian Peterson, Vikings--Perhaps you will be giving me a strait jacket after this call, but you should play him with confidence against the Bears. What? Seriously? YES! The guy has rumbled for over 100-total yards in every game to date accounting for 549 yards and 2 TDs in 4 games. That's an average of 137 yards per game which puts him on pace for almost 2200 yards this season. And plus, the Bears haven't looked real good thus far against RBs.

Bobby Engram, Seahawks--Playing against the Saints has got to make Seattle feel better about losing Deion Branch for a couple of weeks. With Engram, you've got a proven competitor who can step it up--I foresee a possible century mark game with a score.

Alge Crumpler, Falcons--This is where you will officially send me to the looney bin. Yes, I know he's been hurting and his ankle is throbbing. But you should not doubt that he will play versus the Giants, and TEs have tore them up this year. With Crumpler still being solid and one of the best even with the lack of QB(s), he should still put up good numbers this week.

Cedric Benson, Bears--The Vikings rank #1 in fewest fantasy points allowed to RBs and #1 in fewest yards (62) allowed per game. In fact, the Vikings' run defense has been so good that they have allowed, count them...ZERO TDs on the ground this year. Add all of this up and you see that Benson belongs on your bench.

And that, my friends, is the rest of the story....GOOD DAY! :)
