Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups

So we're in full effect for the bye weeks. That means owners for the first time are having to really think about those players that have sat on the wire or those they have drafted as to whether to play them because they have to or to go pick somebody else up. Here's some ideas for those that may be hanging around out there:

Andre Davis, Texans--Andre Johnson's injury is nagging, and Davis has lit it up in the last two games. While I still am not completely sold on Davis since he has been with a few pass-happy teams and never really came through long-term, he provides a solid option now for your WR needs.

Dominic Rhodes, Raiders--the four game suspension is over! Woohoo! Let's celebrate--all except for you, Mr. Rhodes. Oakland's favorite DUI king is ready to go, and with Lamont Jordan hampered by what could be a very serious back injury, Rhodes should be ready to go and will get great yardage. Certainly the best prospect as far as RBs go this week.

Michael Pittman, Bucs--While some will argue that Pittman is the best option this week, and while his YPC is high, I still think he will be good, but for a while it's still an unknown as he splits time with Earnest Graham. Sure he's no Cadillac, but he's no Yugo either.

Derek Anderson, Browns--people, people, stop waiting for Brady Quinn. Anderson has proven his ability and can be a great fill in for QBs as well as a spotty QB2. He's worth the look.
