So, you are scratching your head at Drew Brees performance. You can't believe what happened to Larry Johnson. It's pretty obvious you want to get rid of Maurice Jones-Drew faster than the CW cancels shows.
If you're in these categories, you're not alone--but you're also jumping the proverbial gun. If someone in your league, on the other hand, is thinking like this--take advantage of them like a two-dollar...well, you get the picture.
So--here are some things to consider:
Tom Brady--don't worry about him for this week. The Chargers may be uber-scary, but Brady is still the man, and he proved that in last year's AFC Playoff game at SD. Plus, this year he has Moss. Play him with vigor.
Jay Cutler--can you hear the Cutler owners salivating? Well, you should--he gets his chance to put up mega-points against the swiss cheese Oakland defense.
Brett Favre--The Giants defense was decimated last week versus the 'Boys. Now, Favre and the Packers pass-first mentality will have their chance. Go for it!
Matt Schaub--sure, he beat up on the Chiefs. Big deal. Now that he faces Carolina and a man's man defense, his numbers will show it. Step away from the vehicle.
Jamal Lewis--Ok, he looked like old man winter last week. This week, his team faces the Bengals, who can't stop any RB. He should do well.
Larry Johnson--he didn't do it against the Texans, and he sure as heck won't do it against the Bears. Avoid the humongous red flag this week.
Lee Evans--Ok, he caught 2 balls last Sunday--yes, that's right, 2. But he could go for over 2 against the Steelers...and by two, I mean 200...yards. Again, play him with confidence.
Donte Stallworth--ok, so I said that Brady will be fine...but Stallworth won't be. He seems to be lost out there, and with Moss eating up receptions and yards, Stallworth may drown this week.
Chris Chambers--Yes, I know he's 400 years old, but Miami just plain stinks on offense, and they have to throw it to him. After Eli Manning shredded the Cowboys defense last week, Chambers should get his equal due this week on the receiving end.
Thomas Jones--ouch. I thought this guy would be decent, but he looked awful..and now he faces the run-stuffing Ravens. Enjoy your long periods in the trainer's room next week, Thomas.
So, there you have it...take it or leave it. That's my two cents on this week's fantasy plays (or not play).
