Washington Redskins vs. Seattle Seahawks Playoff Preview

wash.jpgThis game is quite odd to look at; first off, you have Seattle, who strangely enough has not had to rely upon their normally strong running game, yet haven't had the luxury of big name receivers to take the brunt off of Shaun Alexander's ho-hum performance this year. Still, they are 10-6.

On the other hand, the Redskins rode a hot streak to get into the playoffs, yet even when you look at the team statistically, they were very much middle of the pack in several categories, and have ridden the arm of a clipboard-hugging-for-the-vast-majority-of-his-career Todd Collins and a rejuvenated Clinton Portis.

The question is, which team goes on further? Right now the Redskins hold the intangible edge, but Seattle has a distinct home advantage. With Alexander able to game break, the Seahawks have a lot in terms of edge. But you can't underestimate the heart of the 'Skins, and coach Joe Gibbs will have his team sound. As much as I would love to say Washington will advance, Mike Holmgren is just too good of a planner to let this one get away. Seattle wins 24-14 behind Matt Hasselbeck's arm, once again.
