Waiver Wire Watch: RB, Leon Washington - NY Jets

leon_washington.jpgThis is gonna come as a shocker. But guess what folks, the New York Jets are starting to think Kevan Barlow is a bust. Hard to believe, I know. Ok enough of the dripping sarcasm, you get the point. If you've got some roster space to burn, you may want to seriously consider adding this guy if he's still available.

Why?
Because Barlow's 2.9 yards per carry is curdling Mangini's milk. When you take into account how steady and effective Pennington has been throwing the ball and keeping defenses honest, it makes Barlow's inability to carve out at least a league-average YPC that much more pathetic.

When?
Sooner than later. But don't take my word for it...

The New York Daily News reports Jets starting running back Kevan Barlow is "losing ground quickly" to fourth-round pick Leon Washington.

Who?
He's a 5'8, 202-pound rookie sparkplug, very similar to Jacksonville's Maurice Jones-Drew, who I know you're familiar with now, right? Who is Leon Washington? Here's a nice TD-run against Syracuse in his final year with Florida State.
