Vince Young to Grace Madden 08 Cover. Titan Fans Already Planning for 2008 Season.

How many weeks do you give him before the injury? One, two?

Brace yourself Tennessee fans, Vince Young has been named the cover athlete for Madden 08. You may start weeping uncontrollably right now.

For those of you unaware (the whole two or three of you) being on the cover of a Madden video game carries a curse for the following season (or in Marshall Faulk's case, the rest of his career). It has taken down player after player and this season it looks like it's going to take down Vince Young. It's sad for Titan fans as the Madden curse has already affected the franchise after Eddie George was on the cover and was never the same. Seems as though EA Sports has it out for Tennessee as this is the first time that a team has had a second player on the cover of Madden.

Now the question is, how/when is the curse going to hit Young? Is it going to be in the preseason like with Michael Vick (broken leg)? Is it going to destroy the very foundation of his team before the injury even takes place (Donovan McNabb)? Is he going to avoid it all season and then get hit with it right at the end, thus preserving the curse (Ray Lewis)?

I'd like to think that Vince will probably befall the same fate that Shaun Alexander faced last season. Shaun had never missed a game due to injury, but then in WEEK ONE after being on the cover of Madden, he broke a bone in his foot (seemed minor at the time), and it cost him pretty much half of the season.

For Titan fans I am really sorry that this has happened again to your franchise. Maybe you should write EA Sports a letter or something telling them to leave you alone. In a related story, Charger fans, and fantasy football players, are popping champagne over the news that LT will NOT be on the cover. Phew! That was close, but yeah, sorry Tennessee.
