Vick Surrenders: Can the media now surrender this story?

Like a bad taste in your mouth that you get when you swig orange juice after brushing your teeth (will we ever learn?), the Michael Vick story still keeps surfacing, much like a scathing case of herpes. And yes--it is also a disease.

So the big news is Vick "surrendered" to US Marshals. Umm...it was three weeks before he was supposed to turn himself in. Is that really considered "surrendering"? And, we're not talking about a guy who has been on the loose and was holed up with grenades and ammo at his fingertips waiting to blast away some ATF agents. My point is that the drama that this story still is trying to unleash is, at best, a novelty, a quick glance at a car wreck upon passing, where you may think about it, but then wonder where your next turn is.

Vick is trying to do right, and the man will be getting prison for his actions. He's lost his career and his endorsements, and he knows it. Now that he has surrendered, can the media surrender as well??

Don't worry, there will be some other athlete tripping up pretty soon, they always do.
