The Leftwich effect: How will fantasy owners respond?

There was such a clamoring over Byron Leftwich after the Jags cut him in favor of moving along to David Garrard, and while many teams know that Leftwich has the ability and experience, the question was--could he regain the form that so many thought he would take when he joined Jacksonville? Will he be able to revive his arm, knee, and talent overall?

For Leftwich, he had a plethora of chances to play for teams on the upswing, one that he could fit his style and game to as a benefit for both he and the team-so he ends up in Atlanta? First of all, the Falcons are SO not a team on the upswing--their hiring of the "potential" in Joey Harrington, who has flubbed terribly in his first two games, was really not a surprise. They don't have good receivers, their running game is suspect, and the offensive line is mediocre at best. Secondly, Leftwich's style of game--strong armed, but less mobile than the majority of the QBs in the league--does not favor the style of the Falcons, who have gotten used to Michael Vick's scrambling and making something out of nothing playmaking ability.

The crux of it is this--in the fantasy world, this was much bark, but no bite. Don't fall to the idea that suddenly he will find himself in the Georgia dome. Just like Daunte Culpepper, Leftwich will soon realize that there's "no place like home".
