The importance of being Earnest

Who is the heir apparent in Tampa Bay? Well, at the beginning of the year, Cadillac Williams was riding strong, despite an injury-filled 2006. And then, just like that, Cadillac's motor stopped cold. So, in all of this despair in the Bay, a new name emerged: Earnest Graham. Someone who wasn't even regarded as a handcuff suddenly turned it on in a big way, producing game after game after game. Even going into the playoffs for fantasy owners, Graham should be in starting lineups for every league that he's eligible.

Graham's presence has done more than allow the Bucs to continue their ground success that Williams dominated for the past two years, he's allowed to bring two other players back from the fantasy grave--Jeff Garcia and Joey Galloway. Garcia has always been a decently respected QB even since his San Fran days, but in fantasy terms, he hasn't exactly been Tom Brady material (more like Joey Harrington material). Now that Graham is making defenses revolve their game plan around him more than anything, Garcia has had more time to throw, and Galloway has been the recipient. While Galloway has always been solid, no one would have really thought that his fantasy days would be close to what they used to be.

This week should be an awesome play for Galloway owners, as he has great history versus the Saints (9 TDs in six games and has scored every game). And with Graham, who will probably get a huge amount of carries if Garcia can't go, this twosome should be at the top of the scoring categories if things play out as it should. One thing is for sure--fantasy owners doubted all of the Tampa Bay offense except for Cadillac at the beginning of the season. For those that were keen to the uprise of the other Bucs, they may not have had Cadillacs, but they darn sure were able to upgrade to Ferraris. :)
