Tampa Bay-New York NFL Playoff Preview

egrah.jpg Tampa Bay has been kind of an anomaly this season, having injury problems yet still perservering, relying upon past-prime players such as Jeff Garcia and Joey Galloway, and having a no-name defense that was exceptional.

And then there's the New York Giants, always in the limelight, and always seeming to be underwhelming in terms of expectations. Despite losing super RB Tiki Barber to retirement and undergoing injury issues at the RB position, the Giants were able to piece together the 4th best rushing attack yardage wise in the league. QB Eli Manning has been so-so, but the Giants still performed when it counted and ended up 10-6, which could have been 11-5 had they held on to a huge lead they had over the Pats in the last week of the season.

Despite having the better record, the Giants are playing at division winner TB, which will play a huge part in this game. This is a classic offense versus defense game, and the Bucs have the tools to frustrate Manning and stuff the running attack. While the Bucs offense has kind of stumbled into the playoffs, they should still be formidable enough to overcome the Giants lackluster secondary. With the loss to the Pats still looming over the Giants' head, they may not be able to focus as well, and the Buccaneers definitely have the edge in terms of rest. I'll take Tampa Bay in a 24-10 win.
