Super Bowl XLIII: Cardinals have Tillman on their mind

pat-tillman-red.jpg

Pat Tillman was a great football player. An Arizona icon, he played for the Arizona State Sun Devils and then was drafted by the Cardinals in 1998, making a name as a hard-hitting competitor on the field and a great guy off--even turning down a contract offer to the Rams out of loyalty to the Cardinals. Then 9/11 happened, and Tillman thought it was his patriotic duty to join the charge overseas, leaving the Cardinals to go to battle. Unfortunately, Tillman was killed in action in 2004, and the NFL lost a wonderful person, and the Cardinals lost a friend. On this Super Bowl week, Tillman has been a topic among many of the players that were around when Tillman was there, and his character celebrated as a hero to fans and players alike.
