Steve Smith Has A Pulse!

Steve Smith is indeed alive, and rumor has it he even set foot on a grassy field today and did what some people are actually reporting as 'running'. It's been so long since Smith has been seen outdoors, we were beginning to wonder if Smith had Porphyria instead of the much publicized hamstring ailment.

Smith did agility drills and some light running on an adjacent field while his team practiced Wednesday. It was the closest he's come to returning to the field since straining his right hamstring in practice Sept. 5.

Oh, and apparently Steve Smith is an avid reader of blogs and online content because he did get wind of an 'internet rumor' that was floating around claiming that his absence was more about money than injury.

"For the people who are insulting me and this organization, who think I'm going to stoop down to that level, that's not me ... There are a lot of other things I can be doing if I'm holding out. I can go home. I can go to the lake house with my family. I can do a lot of things more important than to make a (fool) out of myself and the organization. You're foolish to think that."

"I'll be excited when I line up on Sunday, so all the haters can go back and put their (number) 89 jerseys back on."

Count me among the many fantasy owners right now who are pleased to see Steve Smith irate. The angrier Smith gets, the closer he must be getting to playing ball because everyone knows he plays his best when he's severely pissed off with the world. Does John Fox have an internet mole? If so, he may have botched that play call in Minny, but this internet rumor thing was just what the doctor ordered.
