Steeelers pass off Wilson

WIL656700.jpg

Just hours after being arrested for punching his estranged girlfiend (punching sounds so much more tabloid-y than assaulting, doesn't it?), Steelers WR Cedrick Wilson is searching for a new NFL home. Wilson, who only started one game for the Steelers last year and really didn't have a huge role on the team, has noted that he regrets the incident. Ya think?

Pittsburgh obviously had enough of him and he was expendable, but isn't it interesting that a pretty GOOD player on their team, James Harrison, was arrested last month for the exact same thing? What is with these guys and hitting their girlfriends? Also isn't it even MORE interesting that Harrison didn't get cut from the team. Hmmm......

While of course we don't know if there were other incidents that may have surrounded Wilson's release, we do know that there should be something to the effect released by the Steelers as to why one player is told to take a hike while a starter does the same exact crime and is still wearing the team's colors. Talk about a double standard.
