Should Eagles let Mcnabb fly away?

Donovan McNabb is talented--there's no question there. He's got the tools to be a great QB and has proven that, taking his team to the Super Bowl previously. But there's a problem.

He USED to be a strong-armed QB that took risks.
He USED to be a double threat with his arm and his legs.
He USED to be one of the toughest QBs in terms of resiliency.

All of that is different now. He's been criticized by the media and shot back at them and his teammates. He's missed considerable time on the field, and he's missed opportunities by playing basically, well ho-hum.

So, the Eagles have said that McNabb will be their QB for 2008. But why? Even in his absence, not many were looking forward to having A.J. Feeley take the helm again, but he performed well against the Pats, but then faded quickly the next week. Sure, McNabb doesn't have the huge assets to throw to or to block for him, but--that still doesn't mean that his performance has gone the way of the dodo bird.

I think it's time for a change of scenery for McNabb. He would be well served to get a new start in Atlanta, Minnesota, Washington, Miami, or even Carolina.
