Seattle-Green Bay NFL Playoff Preview

gnb.jpg

Matt Hasselbeck had to work a lot harder than he thought he would last week against a hyped-up Washington Redskin defense. Will Brett Favre have to work just as hard against a Seattle defense that basically won the game for the Seahawks last weekend? While Seattle enjoyed the comforts of home last weekend, they now have to travel to the Frozen Tundra in Green Bay to face one of the season's biggest surprises in the Packers.

The offense looked like vintage Favre, finishing 2nd overall and 2nd passing. The rushing game came on strong near the end of the year with Ryan Grant exploding onto the scene, and it will severely test Seattle, who is 3-5 on the road. The defense for the Packers hasn't had to really play especially tough in many games because of the offensive numbers the Pack has put up, but this game should be tight throughout, because make no mistake--Mike Holmgren returning home for this big of a game will have him in the film room all week and if there's anyone who knows Favre's tendencies, it's him.

The X factor in this game will be the Seattle rushing game. If Shaun Alexander can bring back some spark and stretch the GB defense, it will force the Packers to push their game into another level. However, this is Favre's season, and I see the Cheeseheads taking this game 28-24.
