San Diego-Indianapolis NFL Playoff Preview

jadd.jpg

With what is pretty much the best matchup of the playoff weekend, the AFC divisional playoff with the #2 Colts versus the #3 San Diego Chargers is certainly an intriguing matchup, with the potential firepower of both offenses and the fact that SD is riding a 7 game win streak coming into the game.

But--is it realllllllllllllllly that great a matchup? First off, the Colts should be getting back Marvin Harrison back, the Chargers seven game win streak isn't all that impressive considering within that is Tennessee twice, Oakland, Baltimore, Denver, and Detroit in that, not exactly your top-tier teams. These two teams met earlier in the season and the Chargers barely won despite Peyton Manning's six interceptions and Adam Vinatieri getting kicking amnesia and missing 2 easy FGs. That won't happen again, and with the fact that Antonio Gates might not even play makes it even more of a disparaging situation for the Bolts.

With the extra week of rest, the Colts really want another shot at the Patriots in Foxboro, so you can bet that Tony Dungy will have the team ready, and the defense, while they won't shut down the Chargers, should at least stifle them enough to allow Indy to win this game going away in the second half 31-21.
