Rivers expected to play

While some fantasy owners are possibly gearing up for Billy Volek to play, Ladanian Tomlinson and Norv Turner have said otherwise about Philip Rivers:

“Philip will play,” LT said. “The way I always look at things is if someone finished the game, pretty much they might be able to play the next game. Philip obviously finished the game. I'm not the coach or the trainer, but I think his chances, just talking to him, he'll be able to try and play.”

Rivers was still around practice yesterday with brace, but all signs point to him being available for this week's games. Sorry, all of you guys that waiver wired Volek.

In other injury news, the Saints placed Olindo Mare on the IR and signed Martin Gramatica. While Mare hasn't exactly been as stellar as his days in Miami, he has still been a decently solid kicker. If you need a good kicker, Gramatica is definitely a decent pick up.
