Redskins Cut Ties with Lloyd

blloyd.jpg

Brandon Lloyd came to the Washington Redskins with a load of potential and a load of question marks. For one, he came from the San Francisco 49ers with some decent numbers, especially considering that he played for some pretty bad teams in his time there. However, he also brought over a prima donna attitude, molded in the form of Terrell Owens, and the knock on him was that he didn't work like other players.

What happened in two years with the Skins was that he caught a whopping 25 balls, never reached the end zone, and had injury issues. Management disliked his apparent lack of work ethic and the fact that they gave up two draft picks in the trade with the Niners. So, it was no surprise when Washington cut him, giving them extra salary cap room in June, which while it doesn't appease the masses quite yet considering how much they gave up for him, it's at least showing that they are trying to continue to build on last season's improvement.

There have been rumors surfacing that the Redskins will make a serious bid if Cincinnati decides to throw Chad Johnson out as trade bait, and everyone knows that one of the most sought out free agents this year--and maybe in history--will be Randy Moss. With Dan Snyder as the owner, you can bet he'll spend spend spend however he can.
