Raiders spending big cash for big players

T1_0305_walker.jpg

Hallelujah! The Raiders are making moves--and it seems--good ones! Holy cow! What's next???

In support of their precious commodity, JaMarcus Russell, the Los Angeles, er, Oakland Raiders went after some offensive line power in Kwame Harris for almost 16 million over three years, and also signed fleet-footed wide receiver Javon Walker away from the Denver Broncos.

Some may say that Walker is a little bit of damaged goods, but even after coming back from a torn knee ligament, he still put up decent numbers in Denver, despite being supplanted as the team's top receiver by Brandon Marshall. He has the wheels and he will certainly be able to take on the #1 receiver role and help Russell along.

Harris was signed from San Francisco, and is a curious case who started every game for two years and then was relegated to a backup role--he has a penchant for penalties, and with the Raiders being one of those teams that have all kinds of penalty issues, he better get his act together. One thing is for sure--the Raiders are tired of being a doormat and Russell better grow up quickly.
