Raiders resign Fargas

fargas.jpg

Justin Fargas only started seven games last year. He wasn't really supposed to be much of anything to the Oakland Raiders, being that they had entrenched LaMont Jordan into the starting role from the previous season and went and spent quite a bit of money on signing Dominic Rhodes.

Well, what transpired is that Rhodes basically sucked from the word "Hike" and Jordan just was ineffective. Not that it was ultimately his fault--teams were putting seven in the box because the Raiders' QB situation was awful at best. But then Fargas was given a shot, and he went over 100 yards 4 times and eclipsed 1000 yards. Not shabby at all.

While terms were not disclosed, it was a good forward move for the Raiders, who didn't let Fargas test the free agent market, and it also made it easier in terms of narrowing down their draft choices as they have one of the top picks. Previously, it was thought that Oakland would be after Darren McFadden, but now that they have gotten Fargas into the fold indefinitely, McFadden is more than likely an afterthought. (Although I just literally salivate thinking of a Jamarcus Russell and Mcfadden combination--wow).
