Pittsburgh at Miami: Mean Jeanne Gets Her Way

hurricane_jeannePittsburgh at Miami: Mean Jeanne Gets Her Way

The Miami Dolphins can't buy a break. Truth is, they've had a dark, black cloud hanging over their season that started with Ricky Williams sudden retirement and has only grown more ominous since. After having to reschedule their opening game due to an impending hurricane two weeks ago, Florida residents once again find themselves in the crosshairs of another menacing storm. Just a few short days ago it appeared tropical storm Jeanne was going to avoid the United States entirely. However, after pummeling Haiti, Puerto Rico and parts of the Dominian Republic, Jeanne took an abrupt turn, gathering strength as it shifted course making a bee-line for the state of Florida. With landfall expected early Sunday morning, the NFL had no choice but to re-schedule the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Miami Dolphins game originally slated for a 1pm kickoff and just 100 miles from the eye of the storm.

ESPN's Hank Goldberg reports that teams now are scheduled to play at 8:30 p.m. Sunday rather than at 1. - ESPN
As the resilient and defiant population of Florida hunkers down and braces for yet another hardship, we at Footblog want to extend our thoughts and prayers to all affected by Mean Hurricane Jeanne.
