Pats now going after Thomas

zachthomas.jpg

The San Diego Chargers didn't want to pay Junior Seau. So what happens? The New England Patriots go out and sign him and he has an amazing year. Now the Miami Dolphins don't want to pay for Zach Thomas. And the report now is that the Patriots are going after him as well. One thing is for sure--where ever he goes, he will be an impact player.

If he does end up with New England, this is another savvy move by the most hated team in the NFL (ok, maybe that was a bit much). With Seau, Teddy Bruschi, and Mike Vrabel, they don't exactly have spring chickens in their lineup, and while Thomas is not young by any means, the fact that they are making their depth even more so with the talent they have should again prove to be invaluable going down the stretch of next season.

Thomas must be ecstatic, going from a team that barely won one game to another that almost won it all. Don't go putting him on the all-pro team just yet, but I would almost be willing to guarantee that he will have a great year (if he stays healthy).
