Ouch! Green suffers worst kind of concussion

Most had thought that Trent Green made a mistake when he left Kansas City for Miami. For one, the Dolphins had not been known for anything offense-wise since Ricky Williams decided that pot was more important than anything else. Likewise, the QBs for the Dolphins have been less than stellar, and some blamed that on poor offensive lines. Kansas City had a meteoric offense and had a huge star in Larry Johnson. Still, it was what it was.

Now, the worst has happened.

Dolphins coach Cam Cameron said today that Green on Sunday suffered a Grade 3 concussion - the most severe form - and is out for the upcoming game in Cleveland. His status beyond Sunday's game is unknown. Green had also missed much of last year because of a concussion.

Symptoms of a Grade 3 concussion include loss of consciousness and no memory of the blow that caused it. Former NFL running back Merrill Hoge, now an ESPN commentator, retired because of problems from concussions. He saw Green get kneed in the head Sunday and was shocked by the severity of the blow. Hoge also had in mind the fact that Green was hurt so severely just last season.

Good luck to you, Trent.
