On The Radar - Week 3

bullet_culpepper.jpgIt's Now or Never For Daunte
The Tennessee Titans are the worst team in football and they are making every quarterback and running back they play against look like world beaters. If Culpepper can't put up a gaudy stat line against this two-dollar defense, stick a fork in him, he's done. The Titans couldn't be coming to town at a better time for C-Pepp and this entire football team. You have to figure the Dolphins will go off this week. Mind you, that's what I thought about Jake Plummer last week and while he did get the 'W', it was ugly from start to finish. Hopefully Culpepper can put in a good showing and if he does, Chris Chambers should be at or near the top of fantasy charts this week as well.

bullet_portis2.jpgClinton - The Comeback Kid
Portis is back practicing at full speed and the fossilized coach Gibbs has all but declared Portis a lock to start in Houston. Its no wonder Portis is busting his chops to be ready for the Texans, as they are giving up the 2nd-most fantasy points to running backs in the league. This is going to be a tough one for Texans coach Gary Kubiak who knows Portis well from his days in Denver. It's going to be a downhill-running clinic on Sunday, and unfortunately for Kubiak his stable of runners will be the ones watching and learning.

bullet_djackson.jpgDarrell Jackson Branches Out
If one of the motives for acquiring Deion Branch was to light a fire under Darrell Jackson, I'd say 'mission accomplished'. With Branch's debut in the offing, D-Jack torched the Arizona Cardinals with two monster 45+ yard plays. Now Eli Manning comes to town so the passing game will need to be in full gear to keep pace with the high octane Giants offense. There is no reason to believe he won't come up big again and Branch's presence is bound to help deflect double-coverage away from Jackson. 140+ yards receiving is well within D-Jack's range this week especially with Alexander continuing to nurse a sore foot.
