No love for Cleveland in Pro Bowl Selections

What does a team have to do? The Browns weren't even supposed to be in contention this year, it was supposed to be Brady Quinn's coming out party, yet here they are going against both of those, sitting at 9-5, and Quinn has yet to even warm up for a game.

But when the Pro Bowl was announced today, there was only 1--count' em, one--player that was a starter--and that was a special teamer (Josh Cribbs). Braylon Edwards was an alternate--but that's it.

Huh? Did I miss something here? Just goes to show you that the Pro Bowl selection committee is no different than what the baseball all-star balloting has proven--it's all about popularity. Ben Roethlisberger was voted an alternate, yet he's started one more game than Derek Anderson and thrown for almost 500 less yards. Jamal Lewis has run for more than 1000 yards and has 9 scores, yet Willie Parker was an alternate and has 300 yards more but only 2--yes, 2--TDs. Joseph Addai has 2 more TDs than Lewis rushing, less yards, and hasn't eclipsed the century mark in almost a month and a half.

The Edwards slight is a joke. He has 4 more TDs than Reggie Wayne, a very close average to him, and only 90 yards less in reception yardage. He should be the starter opposite Randy Moss.

Why don't we just make this the Dallas-Green Bay versus the Patriots/Colts/Steelers game?

Nice boneheaded moves, NFL.
