NFL Fantasy Outlook 2007: Arizona Cardinals

No better place to start than the beginning of the NFL alphabet...even if it is the Arizona Cardinals. Without further adieu, awaaaaaaaaaaaay we go...........

Doesn't every season seem like it is hyped to be some "breakout" season for the Cardinals? They always seem to snag some hyped up free agent that is supposed to be "the next", only to fall flat on their faces---almost literally. So, it comes as no surprise that this year, yet again, hope springs eternal for the Phoenix follies.

Here is a list of some prime players (or not-so-prime):

QB-Matt Leinart--This is one of those times where I can be almost giddy about a QB. Why? Because I think many people think that Leinart is still worlds away, but I think that with Ken Whisenhunt's new offense, an upgraded offensive line, and solid receiving corps, that Leinart can really break out this year.

RB-Edgerrin James--after being signed away from the Colts, James struggled with a swiss-cheese offensive line. But with Whisenhunt's run-first philosophy, James should get plenty of opportunities. However, don't jump on him real early. Talk him down to other fantasy owners and grab him up, but you HAVE to do the muhahahhaaaa laugh after you draft him. Deal?

WR Anquan Boldin--one of the most solid receivers in the league. His only issue is how much of the workload he'll take and how much James will take away from him as the season goes on.

WR Larry Fitzgerald--even though he had a slow start, Fitzie still ended up with almost 70 catches and 6 TDs. He is a great possession receiver and someone to count on as a great #2 receiver.

So, you heard it here first--or maybe for the thousandth time. 'Zona should be someone to make some fantasy noise, unless they suddenly look down at their jerseys and suddenly realize they play for the Cardinals. On paper, looks promising, but so do the Chicago Cubs every year....
