NFL Draft Preview: Buffalo Bills

VINYLMAGNET-BILLS.jpg

Sooner or later, the Bills are going to do it. They will get all of the talent they need and the glory days of the 90s will be back--you just watch. Well, the same mentality has followed the Chicago Cubs every year it seems--and while I am not exactly comparing the Bills to the Cubs, there's been some pretty ham-handed moves in the 21st century that has limited this team's potential severely. So, where do we begin?

Buffalo's biggest concern is at the defensive back position. After Nate Clements signed elsewhere, the depth of the position was largely in question and it showed in a big way last year. On the other side of the ball, the Bills could definitely use some help in terms of the receiving corps, both at wideout and at tight end. A good blocking and decent pass catcher would be a godsend for Buffalo, and they should have gone out and made a bid for Ben Utecht before he bolted the Colts, but c'est la vie. At the wide out position, Lee Evans is decent, but he isn't a game breaker. It's time to get someone who is lanky and go up and get some homerun balls.

The Bills have the number 11 pick in the draft, and with the defensive back possibility being one of the more deeper positions in the draft, they will probably be able to get Leodis McKelvin or Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, whomeever is left at the time. Aqib Talib is another possibility, but if the first two I mentioned are on the board, they'll definitely grab one of them. Fred Davis would be a great pick in the second round if he's there. He is pretty much the only quality tight end out there and would certainly fill their needs.
