NFL Draft Live Blog: First Round Picks 26-32

4:59: The Eagles trade down with...the Cowboys?!?! What? I thought they hated each other?

5:01: Steve Young is now complaining about the same country song playing the both times the Cowboys have been on the clock. He's just in a bad mood today, though he's right that the song sucks. Oh and if you were interested the Cowboys gave he Eagles a 2, 3, and a 5 to trade up to that pick. Not a bad haul for the Eagles.

5:07: And with the 26th pick the Cowboys take....Anthony Spencer. You're telling me this guy was worth the two picks needed to move up and take him? I don't remember him setting the Big Ten on fire last season. Don't like this move at all.

5:18: And with the 27th pick the Saints take....Robert Meachem. I guess this is the replacement for Joe Horn. Not a bad pick at this point in the round. Now the Pats are back on the clock and are pretty much picking between two Big Ten linebackers. Personally I think they'll end up taking David Harris from Michigan.

5:23: Sean Salisbury just called the Lions taking Calvin Johnson the best pick of the day. Thanks Sean, way to make me doubt the pick.

5:32: The 49ers trade up with the Patriots to the 28th pick and take....Joe Staley. So the Niners make another nice move and get back into the first round to snag Staley in front of the Baltimore Ravens. They've had a nice draft so far.

5:43: And with the 29th pick the Ravens take....Ben Grubbs. Another offensive lineman goes off the board. Very good lineman who played against top shelf defensive lineman in the SEC. Would have been a higher pick if he was a tackle. Chargers are on the clock and you have to think they are looking receiver after that horrid performance in the playoffs last year.

5:57: And with the 30th pick the Chargers take....Craig Davis. In your face Dwayne Jarrett! I'm a bit shocked that Jarrett didn't go before Davis. I guess that 40 time really hurt him there. Look for the Bears to stop the other big drop in this draf by taking Greg Olsen next....

6:05: ESPN shows Greg Olsen putting on a Bears hat at his draft party. Unless the Bears are playing a horrible joke on him, I'm guessing that's who they're picking. Of course the Bears are still going to waste the rest of their pick clock if only to make the draft last longer.

6:10: And with the 31st pick the Bears take.....Greg Olsen. If I didn't already hate the Bears enough I hate them more now for just taking more time to make their pick.

6:17: And with the 32nd pick (the last of the first round) the Colts take....Anthony Gonzalez. Good pick for the Colts. He'll fill the role that Brandon Stokely left.

And with that the LONGEST FIRST ROUND IN NFL DRAFT HISTORY is now over. I'll be back with some periodic updates for the rest of the draft, but for now I'm giving my fingers a rest. Enjoy the rest of the draft!
