New York-Dallas NFL Playoff Preview

The Giants marched into Tampa Bay last week and made the Bucs look like a very average team, and one of the biggest stories was Eli Manning's "coming of age". This week, while the storylines have largely been about Tony Romo's vacation in Cabo with Jessica Simpson and whether Terrell Owens will be ready to play, the Giants have been patiently preparing for the celebrity-like Dallas Cowboys.

While the media circus reminds us all of Britney-like proportions, make no mistake--the Cowboys still have one of the most potent offenses and a very underrated defense. If TO is able to play, it creates all kinds of matchup issues for the Giants, and with the extra week of rest, that type of time is absolutely huge in this game.

The Giants will have to attack the Cowboys head on and be aggressive every series, else they may get ran out of the building. The idea is to strike quickly and often and to put the pressure on the Cowboys. But make no mistake--Tony Romo remembers last year's snafu on the field goal that would have won the game, and you can bet he's ready to prove he is not a choke artist. While I think that no one is giving the Giants a real chance in this game, it will be closer than what people think. Still, I will take the 'Boys in a shootout, 38-28.
