Michael Vick = Bust?

Michael Vick = Bust?

If you see an inordinate number of people standing on the ledge of a bridge today, show them some sympathy. Chances are they are Michael Vick owners who had the displeasure of watching their so-called "franchise player" get absolutely violated and creamed in limited preseason action last night against the Washington Redskins.

The Falcons decided prior to the game that Vick would only play 2 series. Which amounted to 4 total snaps. That turned out to be 4 snaps too many. Here is a summary of Vick's short evening of work.

First Play: Vick drops back to pass and gets leveled in the face by an oncoming blitzer. Sack. Loss of 6 yards.

Second Play: Vick drops back to pass and gets drilled in the back by an oncoming blitzer. Sack. Loss of 5 yards.

Third Play: Vick drops back to pass and throws a terrible ball that gets intercepted. Redskins takeover, and score a touchdown.

Fourth Play: Vick starts the 2nd series of the game. Drops back to pass, gets hit in the pocket, fumbles, and the Redskins return it for a touchdown.

4 plays.
2 sacks.
1 interception (which led to a TD)
1 fumble (returned for a TD)

Just 4 plays and down 14 points before you've had a chance to take a bite of your hot dog.

I sincerely hope those who are relying on Michael Vick to carry their fantasy teams this season were smart enough to draft a more than capable backup. You're going to need it!
