McNabb lets arm do the talking--this time

Donovan McNabb, Philadelphia Eagles QB, has had quite the last few years. First, he couldn't get out of a schoolyard back and forth with Terrell Owens, and now he's been making racially charged commentary that has the media and civil rights groups swarming. You would think that such a stressful atmosphere would make him a little less than stellar on the field.

You would think that. And then you forget you're dealing with Donovan McNabb.

McNabb destroyed the Detroit Lions on Sunday, pelting the defense for almost 400 yards and four TDs, leading the offense to scores on its first five possessions. Just six days ago, the Eagles were booed off the field after losing 20-12 to Washington. A day later, it got uglier when McNabb said on HBO that black quarterbacks face greater scrutiny than their white counterparts. McNabb spent a lot of time this week answering questions about his comment he made in August that aired Tuesday. He came under heavy criticism for his statement and heard a mixture of boos in pregame introductions.

What it comes down to is this--the cream always rises, regardless of how a person acts or says off the field (just ask Owens or Chad Johnson). McNabb is a classy football player when he is making plays, but off the field--not so much. Fantasy-wise, he seems to do better when he's under fire, so maybe for owners, the stress can continue.....
