Long time Ram Bruce now out of St. Louis

isaac130.jpg

The joke was always "They're not booing, they're saying Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce", and for years, it was common to hear that during NFL games in St. Louis. Isaac Bruce was a great role model for the NFL; hard work ethic, good numbers, able to produce when needed. In fact, the Rams had him so long he was the last remaining player from the 1995 move from Los Angeles to St. Louis. (Yes, you read that right...it's been that long).

But, for the second time in three years, the Rams have released Bruce from their team. Not that the Rams just ditched him; they had been trying to restructure his contract as he was due a 2 million dollar roster bonus--tomorrow. This is a similar situation that happened to him in March 2006; however, after that time, he signed a new contract-for three years. Alas, it never came to fruition.

Bruce is third in the NFL all-time with yards receiving, and was responsible for the game-clinching TD in St. Louis Super Bowl win in 2000. He still has some legs in him and can again be like a lot of these older, experienced guys that are getting cut can do for new teams; be a clutch receiver if needed, give some young stud advice, etc. and there are so many teams that need that type of "player coach". Bruce will catch on somewhere.
