It is official: Parcells going to....Dolphins??

Just 24 hours ago, people in Atlanta were virtually frothing over the idea that Bill Parcells would be joining their organization. And, in one flail swoop, money talks--and in this case, the money of Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga, who signed Parcells to the Dolphins as a director of football operations in a 4-year deal.

How did this happen? Well, it's no secret the Dolphins need some help. Poor Cam Cameron has had to endure a 1-13 campaign largely decimated by injuries and lack of talent. Now, Parcells is in there, and while he doesn't have direct coaching authority, he does have the power for any and all football decisions--this is huge. But again--you have to question the nomad-like qualities of Parcells and even some integrity when he's basically all but signed a deal with the Falcons and now he's suiting up for southern Florida.

My feeling is that Huizenga got wind of the Parcells possible deal and made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Poor, poor Atlanta. Maybe Dick Vermeil is available? I mean, heck, he turned around the Rams and the Chiefs, didn't he?
