Iffy Situation: Gore to play versus Saints?

Since this season has been basically one big injury report for fantasy owners, it's hard to be able to put trust in whether a player will in fact, play for a game, and even if they do, how much. In this case, we're focusing on Frank Gore, the do-everything back for the San Francisco 49ers. This week, the Niners take on the Saints, a pitiful defensive team, so Gore owners are faced with a quandary: with Gore iffy, what to do?

Well, for one thing, you also have to take into consideration the possibility of QB Alex Smith making a return. Sources say that's about 50-50, but could make a big dent into the plans for Gore, because Smith is by far (in my opinion), the best QB San Fran has, and with him in the lineup, it will take some pressure off of Gore, which would therefore lead me to believe that he will play--plus Gore is a guy that doesn't just "take it easy", so if he is cleared to play--he'll go full strength, none of this "handling with kid gloves" that some teams do.

Word is that Gore has been walking better this week, so my bet is he'll be in there, especially if Smith is given the go ahead as well. Gore owners, be prepared though, if Smith is not and he does play, it could be a long day--even against the Saints. But my crystal ball says go for it no matter what....it's also telling me that you should trade Tom Brady to me....look into my eyes....
