I Guess Somebody's Getting Fired

Money_2_070105143819.gif

Um, Brian, could you please give us the money back that we accidentally paid you? Pretty please?

I was going to move on to week four of the 2007 NFL schedule until this was brought to my attention. Apparently some genius in the Eagle's front office paid Brian Westbrook an extra roster bonus. An extra THREE MILLION DOLLAR roster bonus. That must have been an interesting day in the Westbrook house. Instead of that three million dollar check he was expecting, he got TWO instead. Now usually if you're an idiot and you pay somebody too much money, you have to pay for that stupidity by losing the money. I mean it's only fair right? Or Westbrook could be the big man and just give the Eagle's back the money. Otherwise possession is 9/10's of the law, the Eagles gave him six million, he should keep six million.

Instead the Eagles apparently think Westbrook should give the money back and apparently he isn't having any of it. They had to file a grievance against him to get the cash back and apparently things are escalating. Oh and he still plays for the team. I always love situations like this where the team a player is currently on takes action against him to get money back. I'm sure the player has a lot of motivation to play hard for the organization that is taking legal action against him to take some money back. These things usually don't end well (*cough*Charles Rogers*cough*)

Oh and I'm sure the accountant who screwed this up is probably looking for a job. May I suggest Detroit? I'm sure they could use someone like that.
