Griese is the word

Flatline....eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee........Rex Grossman has officially flatlined.....

After the speculation for the entire week that Brian Griese would be taking over at QB after Grossman's pitiful start raged across the football world, coach Lovie Smith finally came clean and named Griese his starter. The move has been a long time coming given Grossman's wildly inconsistent play and the intense scrutiny he's been under on a weekly basis despite an 18-8 career record as a starter.

Griese isn't a world-beater, but he's a far more accurate passer and will likely avoid as many momentum-killing turnovers as "Wrecks." However, while Griese may be a real-life upgrade over Grossman, he's no better than a borderline QB2 fantasy option.

I feel bad for Grossman. He's done well, but obviously Chicago Bears fans are starting to look like Yankees fans. If they are not winning everything, obviously it's not good enough. Good luck to Griese, you're going to need it.
