Getting to Know the 2007 NFL Schedule: Week Three

0_61_owens_terrell.jpg

Just what I wanted, MORE T.O. ON NATIONAL TV! THANKS NBC!

Well folks, week three's slate of games could quite possibly be worse than week two's amazingly enough. Fortunately, though, there are a few games worth noting in this collection that should get you through the Sunday if the team you follow is 0-2 with a season going towards oblivion (I'm looking your way Oakland).

GAMES TO WATCH

Sunday, 9/23

LIONS at EAGLES, 1 PM

Only if you enjoy watching a team get mauled. You have to contribute the Marty Morninwheg revenge factor as he faces his old team as the Offensive Coordinator for the Eagles. I may take the Eagles even if they are laying 21....if I were into that sort of thing.

CARDINALS at RAVENS, 1 PM

Do you have a dislike for Matt Leinart? Does his good looks and natural talent anger you? Well have I got the game for you! Ray Lewis and company will have a field day with the Cardinals shoddy offensive line. This could be a massacre. Leinart will be running for his life from the moment he takes the first snap.

49ERS at STEELERS, 1 PM

Now if this were the 80's 49ers vs. the 70's Steelers it would be a clash for the ages. Unfortunately it's not, but it will at least be a bit interesting since the Steelers have a new coach for the first time in what seems like forever, and both teams could either make the playoffs or be horribly mediocre. Could be a turning point here.

PANTHERS at FALCONS, 4 PM

This game could go a long way in deciding who wins the NFC South. Or it could be like last year where the Saints pretty much ran away with the division because the rest of these teams weren't any good. Either way, this game is being played early enough in the season where it'll be interesting regardless.

COWBOYS at BEARS, 8 PM

First off, ANOTHER NFC EAST TEAM IN PRIME TIME? Did anybody else watch this division last season and say, "Wow, these are some great teams. I'd love to see more of them in primetime next year?" I didn't think so. This division is full of mediocre teams (to the point where JEFF GARCIA lead a team to the Division title last year) and yet they are on my TV screen on national games over and over and over. Ugh. Still this game will deserve watching because it'll be interesting to see how Romo handles a team with a dominant pass rush. Should be fun in a "watching a car wreck" kind of way. Expect T.O. to be screaming in his face by the end of the first quarter.

Monday, 9/24

TITANS at SAINTS, 8:30 PM

So how many times do you think we're going to have to hear the announcers wax poetic on the impact the Saints have on New Orleans during this game? 1,000? 2,000 times? That being said this game does feature two of the stars of last year's rookie class (Vince Young, and Reggie Bush) so that reason alone makes this one interesting to watch. Here's hoping they keep the human interest stories to a minimum and let us just watch some damn football.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T WATCH!

He may be barking on the outside, but on the inside he's crying.

Sunday, 9/23

BROWNS at RAIDERS

The only redeeming value this game has is that it could matchup Brady Quinn and JaMarcus Russell if things break right on draft day. Other than that it's basically a match up of two teams trying to get a leg up for 2008 draft position, too bad it's in week three.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for a look at week four.
