Get on the bus, Gus: Bulger Benched

The Rams are reeling, there's no doubt about it. And the leader (or is it the end) of the pack is none other than QB Marc Bulger. Bulger signed a mammoth contract extension at the outset of training camp, but has been playing poorly with two broken ribs.

Veteran Gus Frerotte will take over the starting job for the 0-4 Rams, who host the Cardinals on Sunday. On the coaching end, Bulger is not the only one affected by this dismal start--offensive coordinator Greg Olson is being demoted. Presumably, head coach Scott Linehan will take over the duties.

What does this mean for fantasy owners? Well, don't jump ship on Bulger quite yet. Frerotte will be a decent pick up, as he's always done reasonably well in different atmospheres much worse than this (just keep him away from headbutting any walls). As far as the Rams other offensive players, this comes as no surprise, but sit and wait--it's too early to know what this will mean on a broad scale.
