Game Over: PacMan Out for 2007. Blames Ghosts, and Lack of Power Pellets

PacMan looking pretty amused during one of his many recent visits to the clink.

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty surprised (read: NOT) at the news today that NFL Commissioner/Resident Badass Roger Goodell has dropped the hammer on PacMan and taken away all his tokens for the 2007 season. How many tokens you ask? How about 5.17 million of them (that's $1.29 million real dollars). That's quite a lot of singles PacMan could have used to "make it rain" at a local gentleman's establishment. Can't say I'm really surprised by this development, since PacMan has been questioned by the authorities TEN (!) different times since entering the league. I understand that he's a young man with a lot of money, and that tends to be a bad combination sometimes, but the guy needs to get his head on straight. If he were in any other profession he would have been fired by now. Instead he gets to sit out a year and will be fully able to come back after that. Will he ever be a Titan again? I don't think he will be but I suppose that will depend on what he does during his extended period off. May I suggest avoiding the strip clubs perhaps? I know, sounds crazy, but I really think that may be a wise course of action.

Goodell wasn't just content on bitch slapping PacMan though, he also told the Bengals' Chris Henry to stay at home for half of the year for his repeated off-field hijinks. In case you have a pool at home (and who doesn't?) Henry blazed a trail of four arrests over a 14 month span. That's some pretty impressive numbers right there, too bad it cost him a total of ten games over the past two years (he was suspended two games last year by the Bengals).

I think the major point in these suspensions is that both carry certain conditions that need to be met (most notably, DON'T GET ARRESTED YOU IDIOT!) and if they aren't met, um, things aren't going to be good.

If Jones and Henry do not fully comply with these conditions, they could be permanently banished from the NFL.

"I must emphasize to you that this is your last opportunity to salvage your NFL career," Goodell wrote to the players. "I urge you to take full advantage of the resources available to support you in that effort."

Uh, so yeah, get your act together boys. Goodell isn't screwing around anymore. I'm liking this guy more and more each day.
