Easy Eli making a name of his own

eliman.jpg

Being nicknamed "easy" isn't often that, when the moniker sometimes can be used to say how it is to play against someone or to beat them. But that may not be as "easy" to say any more, as "Easy" Eli Manning has made it look almost just that in two upset wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New York Giants.

There will be a Manning playing in a championship game, but it's not going to be with Peyton. This year it's been Eli's turn, and he may be able to complete the trifecta with a win in wintry Green Bay this weekend. It's a feat that many have tried but failed at, and being a cold weather team like the Giants are helps (but there is a distinct difference between Green Bay cold and even, well, Arctic Cold).

Manning's evolution into a prime-time quarterback has been a rocky road, and really no one, including myself, gave them a chance to make the postseason, much less be sitting here in the NFC Championship. I guarantee Tony Romo sure didn't think that (Be on the lookout for Romo to be renamed Ray Finkle sometime soon....allllrighty then). But here we are---who knows, maybe we'll get to see if they can get another shot at keeping the Patriots from being perfect. At this point, anything can happen.
