Chiefs waive longtime fan fave Kennison

kennison.jpg

Eddie Kennison has not only played several years at a skill position in the NFL, he's also played several years for one team, which is more an exception than a rule nowadays. Unfortunately, at 35, the Kansas City Chiefs have decided that it is time to move on and waived Kennison today.

For several years, Kennison was the go-to guy and was the team's deep threat while Trent Green was quarterback. However, last season, he had a severe hamstring injury and only caught 13 balls all year. With the emergence of last year rookie Dwayne Bowe and Sammie Parker's continued production, it made it easier to let fan favorite Kennison go.

However, don't count him out just yet. Kennison can still play a slot back and a good spot receiver for pretty much any team. Just look at the Bears--they can probably snatch this guy up in a heartbeat and have a decent receiver for their needs. You could point at any team and they can definitely use this guy's experience and, barring any nagging injuries, they can get him at a bargain price.
