Chambers traded to Chargers: Why this Works

Hot off the wire! Chris Chambers has been traded to the San Diego Chargers for a 2008 second round draft pick. Why does this work? Because #1--Chambers 2008 salary would have been way too expensive for an offensive-starved rebuilding team like the Dolphins. #2 The Chargers need to have some veteran leadership, and with Chambers, you have a guy who has been the #1 guy for a team that has struggled at QB for quite some time.

Even though Chambers will probably be a slot WR3 in the fantasy world, the Chargers can always upgrade him, and let's face it--his production may sag slightly but I see this being a coup for Chambers owners. It also helps open up the offense for the Chargers even more and gives QB Philip Rivers another good option, while keeping secondaries honest and not keying on LT every play (ok, not every play, but you get my point).

A great deal all around for both teams.
