CFL not happy that NFL may be coming to Toronto

All signs point towards Toronto. That's what CFL Commish Mark Cohon has seen on the NFL radar for a while. Now, we're not talking expansion, we're talking shifting of cities. But who? Well, if it were anyone, it'd be the Bills.

Owner Ralph Wilson has stated that when he passes away, the franchise is to be sold from his estate. Cohon has noted that some pretty influential sports figures (Ted Rogers, Phil Lind, etc.) have made commentary about a deal, and with Wilson already petitioning the NFL to have 1 game a year played in Canada for the Bills, the signs are all too clear to Cohon.

Not that he totally objects--he just wishes that if this happens, it will do so in a partnership mode with the CFL, as having a team in Toronto would more than likely threaten the CFL's stranglehold on Ontario. What this means is "Well, if you're going to come in here, fine, just cut us a check for the territory". Why should that be up to the CFL? It's not as if the expectation would be that it would kill the league, but it can't be a bad thing for Toronto either--it has totally embraced an NBA team, so why not the NFL?

While I am sure there will some promotion of the CFL that will be reached, Cohon needs to get over himself. What's good for the country is what is better than his financial stake in the potential move. Plus, it's not even happened yet!!!
