2007 NFL Fantasy Outlook: Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans were the feel-good team of 2006 (besides the Colts, of course). Not only did they start out 0-3 and charge back to 8-8, they won six in a row in several thrilling finishes, including a victory over the world champion Colts. So, one would think that they would obviously be on their way up right? Well, not necessarily when you have the nasty words "free agency". Let's see how they'll stack up this year:

QB Vince Young--Ok, I'll admit it, I was skeptical of Young in the NFL. He seemed to me to come from the school of Andre Ware/Antwan Randle El where he had the legs but not the arm or the ability to compete at the level QBs need to. Boy was I wrong. He is definitely someone that you should get as a lower tier #1 QB or high #2, and he will give you the results you need.

RB LenDale White/Chris Brown--The Titans running game, besides Young, was plain ugly last year, and they lost their best RB in Travis Henry to Denver. Now they face a platoon situation which will be anyone's guess how effective it will actually be. For fantasy, this is a definite stay-away zone.

TE Bo Scaife/Ben Troupe--The lack of big play receivers makes it evident that the TE position will be used more than ever. Troupe's currently out with a foot injury, but Scaife has filled in nicely during the preseason. Don't get any one of them high, but keep them on your radar. You could be super surprised...

WR Eric Moulds--Ok, we know his best days are behind him, but Moulds is still a threat, and as the probable #1 receiver for a team that doesn't have much at all, he could still be a decent #2 or #3 receiver. If you can get him in the later rounds, you'll be mining gold.

WR David Givens--Obviously the Titans are into paying their receivers in Social Security. Givens is also on the downside of his career and shouldn't be more than a waiver wire pick up, in my opinion.

The Titans looked like they should be much better this year until they lost their #1 RB and #1 WR. Now the pressure is even more on Young, and pay attention to see how he does and then pick accordingly with others on the team.
