2007 NFL Fantasy Outlook: San Diego Chargers

The Chargers looked so great--until playoff time. They had the studs, they had the ability, they just didn't execute. So, what does that mean for this team in 2007? They didn't make a ton of changes and they certainly didn't need to--so here goes for the fantasy end of things:

QB Phillip Rivers--Wah-wah, we lost Drew Brees. Boo-hoo, he had an awesome year with the Saints. Hello!!! Rivers went 14-2 in his first year, and while someone will say "Oh that was because of LT and everybody else", don't underestimate how good Rivers is. Talk him down on draft day and then grab him. It will pay dividends, mark my word.

RB Ladanian Tomlinson--Do I need to even say anything here? If you need to know about LT, drop out of your league NOW. Seriously. Do it.

TE Antonio Gates--simply one of the best out there, he is silky smooth as a tight end. And--his production has actually gone down. Still should be a shoo-in to get 1000 yards and double digit TDs. No matter what, consistency is the key with Gates, and he proves it year in and year out.

WR Malcom Floyd--Only 15 catches last year, but someone not to ignore. Sure, Gates and LT will eat up TDs, but Floyd has game-breaking ability and could be a superstar sleeper. Watch him closely in the preseason.

WR Vincent Jackson--Now that Eric Parker has bowed out with a broken foot, Jackson is the man in the passing game. I guarantee you people will not recognize this on draft day--make them pay--I say--and maybe you could go down to the bay, you just may!

WR Craig Davis--He seems to have been given the nod over Floyd, but that may not last. The rookie has superstar potential, but needs some time. Again, continue to watch closely in preseason.

The Chargers are one of those fantasy juggernauts that owners dream about. The WR is a questionable area as far as production, but all other positions are great. Grab 'em.
