2007 NFL Fantasy Outlook: Cincinnati Bengals

No longer the "Bungles" or the "Ben-gals", Cincinnati now puts fear in teams that suit up against them. Why? Well, it isn't because of their defense--it's because of their prolific offense that can easily rival any one in the league. While down the stretch the team sputtered, overall, this is still a very good team at all power positions. Let's check it out!

QB Carson Palmer--He threw for 32 TDs in 2005 and was not quite up to par in 2006 (he still had 28 TDs), many say due to an offseason injury that had him more hesitant than the previous season. This year, look for him to return to his 2005 form and fire that pigskin downfield. I think Palmer is the "next" big QB star in the league.

RB Rudi Johnson--1300 yards, 12 TDs, ho-hum,another day at the office for Johnson. This consistent back is what fantasy owners froth over, getting someone who they know will get the carries, yards, and scores, albeit that if Palmer does indeed return to form, it will most definitely steal some of his thunder. Still, I like Johnson as a top 10 RB.

WR Chad Johnson--You love him, you hate him, but you don't deny his talent. His game can normally back up his mouth, and even with other stellar players surrounding him, most people know that this Johnson is the thermometer of this team. He is still a stud to get.

WR TJ Houshmandzadeh--A possession receiver at best, but he still makes a quality backup for fantasy leagues. Again, considering that Palmer should be getting more yards and TDs this year, TJ should continue to get some decent numbers every week.

I really like to watch the Bengals, because of their exciting offense and they just seem like a team ready to turn the corner. After suffering embarassing seasons for well over a decade, this AFC juggernaut is ready to explode.
